So, without further ado, here’s the breakdown…īust some heads. Right now, we’ve got a list of fun things that you can do if you feel like just goofing off in some Bat tights. Oh, sure, there’s follow the story, but you knew that already, and probably want to get a good idea of what Hugo Strange is up to with his “Protocol 10” or whatever. While you won’t have to wait long for the game’s final review (we’re working on it to post sometime Thursday – patience!), we did decide to put together a helpful little guide of some fun things you can do while you’re running around through the game. If that was how the rating system worked.Well, it’s here, and after about the first 24 hours of owning the game, we can easily say that Batman: Arkham City rocks our socks. This game is great, it's my favorite in the arkham series and this is actually the first batman game i played, i didn't play arkham asylum first, i played arkham city, arkham city is literally the best in the series, whenever people say "ohhhhh catwoman has too much of a revealing outfit" stop saying that, nobody cares, the game is fine for kids 8 years of age and older, you dont see much blood other than very near the end but i'll get to that later, when you hit criminals blood doesn't come from them, however when batman gets hit blood comes from him, the screen is shaded grey for the second he gets hit so it's a little hard to see, you dangle someone off of a tall building as batman, of course you don't kill him, this is one of the less violent games in the series, there is a tiny bit of sexual innuendo like a neon sign in a building that says "Live Nude$" however you can't enter the building (Obviously) overall i give the game a 35/10 My dad bought this game for me and my 2 brothers when i was 8 and my brothers were about 12 and 7, we all played it for hours and hours until we finished it trying to get every little secret and riddler trophy. The words “bitch,” “ass,” and “bastard” can be heard in the dialogue. Tobacco Use: One scene depicts The Penguin smoking a cigar.Īlcohol Reference: There are many references to alcohol, like “She got a little drunk and killed her classmates” and “I'd give anything for a nice cold beer right now.” Suggestive Themes: Over the course of the game, some women wear skintight outfits that expose sizable amounts of cleavage one background sign depicts the neon silhouette of a woman and the words “Live Nude.” The dialogue also has some suggestive references like “The anger, the frustration, the hints of repressed sexual tension” and "Sure could go for some porn right now." Hugo Strange has a spot of blood on him after he is impaled by Ra's al Ghul's sword in a cutscene Ghul jumps off of a building, stabs himself, and gets imapled by a spiked fence soonafter, although there is no blood that I remember in this part.īlood: Some areas have blood stained on the floor and furniture other cutscenes show spots of blood on wounded characters, including Hugo Strange after he is impaled by Ra's al Ghul's sword. In some parts, players have to solve puzzles or use stealth to knock out hostiles and free hostages if the player fails the challenge, the hostage gets killed. The intense fights are highlighted by screams of agony, punching sound effects, realistic gunfire, and slow-mo effects. Violence: The player controls Batman as he explores Arkham City, a town populated by serial killers and prisoners, and infiltrate hideouts, punching and kicking sociopathic criminals in melee-style battles, using many gadgets like explosive gel, smoke pellets, and his grapple gun to defend himself against firearm-toting gangsters and bad guys. There's only one complaint that I have which is crashing on the computer version, the first part of the Catwoman and Robin DLCs used to crash after the first cutscene but I changed a few graphics options and maybe a few other things in the latter's case, that did the trick but it's still an issue. The boss battles, plot, and gameplay are top-notch and the only things that Knight really beats it at are graphics and the fighting mechanics. When I first started playing this game I was sucked into it and beat the campaign in a little over a day, I've barely played it since but the open-world and side-quests leave you with content to go back to (that isn't scarred by repetitive Batmobile missions). I know this is a super 2012 thing to say but this is hands-down the best Batman game and superhero game as a whole, there are elements of Arkham Knight I prefer but overall this and Asylum are better.
